Business and Enablement
Enablement teams, such as HR, IT, Finance, Risk, and many others, must clearly define their roles in any organisation. There are organisations where these teams tend to overshadow the business teams.
These departments are seen as supporting the business, but behind the scenes, they are perceived as "difficult".
This comes with the territory. Enablement teams have a challenging task: They must understand the business, anticipate its future needs, and deliver to multiple expectations.
A hard act by any standards.
The fallout: They stop making decisions and wait for the front lines to tell them the next move.
Good leaders can define clear objectives for these teams. Importantly, they inculcate a culture of partnership. A collaborative and less bureaucratic enablement team can become a key differentiator for future growth.
